Recently I drove past our city underpass, seeing small dirty piles of belongings below the bridge, a tattered sheet and scraps of material, evidence that someone claimed this cold, impersonal cement slab as their home.
It broke my heart and I found myself wanting to do what I could to make their life better.
So, let's take this moment to pay it forward. Extend a global hug to the hurting, lonely and disadvantaged souls.
Partner with Hope for Homeless to change the world for the better, one life at a time. Your donation of $35 provides a thick, plush and warm faux mink blanket to one homeless individual. These blankets will provide extreme warmth against the winter elements and a comfortable flooring throughout the season.
100% of donated proceeds go directly to the Hope for Homeless fund. For about $1.00/day you can change a life-now that is something to be proud of!
Something special you can do with the kids to teach them about caring for others.
Gallon size Ziplock bags
packages of tissues
toothbrush and toothpaste
soap (recommended baggy sealed to prevent fragrance on food)
hotel size shampoos
pack of gum
coins or predetermined dollar amount, say 5.00 (could be used to make a phone call, or purchase a food item)
you could also put in a warm pair of socks
a packet rain poncho

The ideas could be endless!
Assemble all the items in the bags, and maybe throw in a note of encouragement.
Your kind words go a long way.
Seal the bags and stow in your car for a moment of providence.
